GPNA Rain Barrel Workshop: Session 1
April 20 @ 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
GPNA & The Alger Garfield Collaborative invite you to learn about how you can help protect our urban waterways, like Plaster Creek, by installing a rain barrel at your home or business. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the Garfield Park Rain Garden and hear about future sustainable initiatives coming to the park.

Join WMEAC’s education team for a fun Saturday of learning how the Great Lakes resides within us all. This is a FREE workshop for K-12 educators or those who are interested in pursuing environmental education.

We will be exploring the wonderful natural spaces at Ken-O-Sha Park (1353 Van Auken St. Grand Rapids, MI 49508). Attendees will explore Plaster Creek by collecting aquatic macroinvertebrates with waders and nets, investigating water chemistry, and much more! You will gain new perspectives on the Great Lakes and plenty of resources and ideas to take home or to your classroom.

WMEAC will be at the Center for Community Transformation to share our work and successes over the past year. Registration is now closed but please join us on our virtual livestream that will begin at 6:30pm if you have not registered. We hope to see you there either in person or online!
