WMEAC Elects 2008-2009 Board of Directors

For Immediate Release, June 16, 2008, Grand Rapids, MI… West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) elected seven new members to its Board of Directors in June, 2008. The following individuals will begin their term of service to the regional environmental community in August of 2008: • Linda Glaza Herington, Retired Lawyer • Kristine Bersche, Owner, Green Life Market • Michael Hoffman, President, Light, LLC Architecture and Planning • Catherine Bragdon, Bio-Metrics and Bio-Design Consultant • Anne Saliers, Innovations Director, Innovation Works!, Right Place, Inc • Eric Nordman , Assistant Professor, Natural Resource Management, GVSU • Kerby Wallace, Senior Investment Manager, Legacy Trust

WMEAC thanks the outgoing members of the board who played a significant role in accomplishing a successful leadership transition in the organization throughout 2006 and 2007. WMEAC’s mission is to protect and preserve West Michigan’s natural resources by translating the concern of people into positive action. WMEAC has severed the region since 1968 and celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2008. The organization’s areas of key focus include building sustainable communities, protecting water and promoting ecologically restorative institutions and organizations.
