In this Watershed Moment, we talk with Anne Marie Hertl, WMEAC’s Community Activism Manager, about the upcoming Kent County Health Department Community Needs Assessment Meetings. These meetings provide the opportunity for the Kent County Department to listen to the community and find out what types of health needs are most important to community members.
Anne Marie explains, “You have an opportunity to tell the health department how important you think green space is, how walkability impacts your life, stormwater, stormwater runoff, the fracking and water quality conversation.”
The meetings provide a way to accurately and correctly initiate changes in our health department as well as programs provided across Kent County.
“We’re continually trying to prove the case and understand the connections that our environmental world has on public health.” says Hertl.
Information on locations and times for meetings can be found here. They will continue throughout February and run through April 15.
