A Watershed Moment: LEED for Homes

This week’s Watershed Moment revisits with Alliance for Environmental Sustainability Executive Director Brett Little, who is back to talk about the LEED for Home program.

“LEED for Homes is a residential, green, third-party, voluntary certification ratings system that’s owned by the United States Green Building Council…” said Little. “I believe in West Michigan, we have 300 certified LEED homes, or otherwise we look at it as residential living units of multifamily housing.”

Little then talked about the upcoming West Michigan LEED for Homes Tour, which will take place on November 2 and showcase five area homes that have met LEED certification standards.

The tour, which came about through a partnership with the United States Green Building Council in West Michigan, is “the first of its kind,” according to Little.
