This week’s Watershed Moment features Dan Schoonmaker, Director of Communications and Member Services for WMEAC, talking about the West Michigan Sustainability Golf Outing.
Every year, the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum holds a golf outing to raise money for scholarships of about $5,000 each. These scholarships are granted to junior and senior undergraduate students and graduate students who have thoroughly integrated sustainability into their curriculum.
Several of the scholarship’s recipients have gone on to hold notable positions in sustainability in West Michigan.
“It’s a really fun event that’s for a good cause involving some very fun people,” said Schoonmaker.
The event will take place on Monday, August 12 at Sunnybrook Country Club in Grandville from 8 a.m. to noon, and costs $75 per golfer or $300 for a foursome. A celebration with door prizes will conclude the outing.
