Celebrate 50 Years of Environmental Action
Thursday, April 26, WMEAC will host its fourth annual Blue Tie Ball at the Goei Center – a fundraiser for WMEAC’s water protection programs and a celebration of Earth Day.
In addition to being a fundraiser for WMEAC’s water protection programs, the event will celebrate 50 years of environmental action with live music from Hannah Rose and the GravesTones and Matt Gabriel, a dinner featuring local cuisine from San Chez Bistro, fresh cocktails, and an auction featuring unique experiences. This is your opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and to support water protection right here in West Michigan.
Make a Nomination for the Heartwell Environmental Legacy Award
WMEAC established the Heartwell Environmental Legacy Award in honor of Grand Rapids’ Mayor George K. Heartwell. The award honors elected and appointed, public sector leaders from across the political spectrum, who have created positive change on behalf of our region and state’s natural resources and public health. The inaugural award was given to Mayor Heartwell for his work to elevate climate change and climate resiliency in municipal practice.
The deadline for submitting your nomination is March 31, 2018.
