Earth Day Event: Party for the Planet at John Ball Zoo

Written by Chris Siciliano

This year celebrate Earth Day with your animal friends at John Ball Zoo.

WMEAC and BetterBuildings for Michigan are pleased to participate in Party for the Planet, a celebration for conservation, recycling, and our natural world! The event will be held at John Ball Zoo from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, April 21st, and will involve over 25 green-minded organizations.

If you go, be sure to stop by the WMEAC booth and say hello, and remember to ask about the great things BetterBuildings for Michigan is doing in neighborhoods across Grand Rapids. Here’s more about the event from the John Ball Zoo Society website*:

Party for the Planet at John Ball Zoo will include booths, stations, and demonstrations from the area’s top conservation-minded organizations as well as a convenient drive-up recycling center for just about any items. Animals that are threatened or endangered will be showcased with ideas on what you can do to help save these valuable species right here in Grand Rapids.

Admission to the event is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 3-13 and children 2 and under are always free. The Zoo is open daily 10am – 4pm, but the Party for the Planet activities will take place until 3:00pm.
