West Michigan Environmental Action Council and the Michigan Chapter of the Sierra Club will host the second of their Community Conversations on Climate Change. The topic is “Electrifying Our Future” scheduled for Thursday, February 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The virtual discussion will be moderated by John Kinch, Ph.D., executive director of the nonprofit Michigan Energy Options, which fosters innovative and collaborative energy projects between the public and private sectors. Panelists include: Mike Wall, executive director of Automotive Analysis at IHS Markit; Jeff Myrom, director of Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicle Customer Products for Consumers Energy, and Christina Britton, senior sustainability analyst at Meijer.
The focus of the panel will cover basic information about electric vehicles (EVs), batteries, and charging station technology and infrastructure, contributions to greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector, EV affordability and benefits, incentives, and opportunities for job creation in the Muskegon area and West Michigan.
