Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, a nonprofit group dedicated to protecting, enhancing, and expanding Grand Rapids’ parks and public spaces, is looking for an Urban Forest Project Coordinator to lead FGRP’s urban forest community engagement initiative.
The Urban Forest Project aims to engage the whole community in growing a larger, healthier urban forest in Grand Rapids. The Urban Forest Project Coordinator’s duties will include:
- Maintaining urban forest web resource center
- Developing crowd-sourced citizen inventory and tree map
- Planning a wide array of tree-related activities, events, volunteer and partnership opportunities
The Coordinator will work closely with the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator, as well as the Grand Rapids City Forester and a variety of local organizations involved in urban forest activities.
