The Muskegon Area Sustainability Coalition has announced that its August Green Drinks gathering will be August 15, 2012, and will take place aboard the Port City Princess. The ship will take participants out onto the waters of Muskegon Lake where they will have the chance to learn about the restoration of the lake, as well as environmental issues currently impacting it.
Green Drinks is a networking opportunity for persons interested in sustainability or related fields, but is open to the public and is held in more than 700 cities across the world, including Grand Rapids and Muskegon. The purpose of Green Drinks is to bring people together to network, argue, scheme, and overall enjoy one another’s company in a sustainable environment. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends, talk about new ideas, and relax. More information on Green Drinks can be found at www.greendrinks.org.
The August event in Muskegon will be sponsored by West Michigan Dock and Market Corporation. Appetizers will be provided, along with a cash bar. Boarding of the ship will begin at 5PM with departure promptly at 5:30PM. Visit www.portcityprincesscruises.com for directions to the site.
