If you’re interested in protecting the ground water supply and health of water users, these two positions with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality might be a great fit for you. The successful candidates will assist the unit chief in regulating water supply, sewer codes, and programs in accordance with the Michigan Safe Water Drinking Act of 1976 (PDF).
A bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: physical sciences, biological sciences, resource development, resource management, or engineering.
The environmental quality analyst will consult with local health departments, drilling contractors, well owners, regulatory agencies, and other state agencies. The analyst will also represent the DEQ at meetings and conferences, as well as assist local health agencies in investigation of complaints.
