The Michigan Saves Home Mortgage Program kick-off event will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS, 660 Kenmoore Ave.

The Michigan Saves Home Mortgage Program offers financial incentives for current or potential homeowners to make energy-saving improvements and other renovations to their home. Specially trained Michigan Saves Advance Plus certified contractors are available through this program to perform these improvements correctly and cost-effectively. Special utility rates can also be obtained through the program, saving the homeowner even more.

The savings on home energy improvements through the Michigan Saves Home Mortgage Program can highlight the affordable chance for buyers to turn REO’s, short sales and other seemingly undesirable properties into attractive homes. Offering these upgrades to home-buyers at the time of purchase, the best time to make these improvements, would drive up sales in the current real estate market.

Real estate professionals and anyone interested in the Michigan Saves Home Mortgage Program should attend this free event. In addition to important information about this program, refreshments and snacks will be provided.

There is limited seating, however, so interested persons should reserve their place either by email: MortgageLoans@michigansaves.org or online: www.michigansaves.org/Partners/RealEstateProfessionals.aspx.
