The Michigan Water Stewardship Program has a new web site (miwaterstewardship.org) that aims at educating Michigan residents on sustainable water practices.
An online training program on the web site teaches residents how to manage water in their homes and yards and gives tips for reducing water waste and protecting local water resources. It also offers information to educators and has section aimed specifically at youth. Take the online survey to find out how well you manage your water.
The training course is offered free and focuses on determining household environmental risks and learning how to better manage the home in order to save money and protect water resources.
The web site is a collaborative effort of several Michigan organizations including the Department of Agriculture, Michigan State University Extension, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program and the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program.
