Building Codes Become 30% More Energy Efficient

An international standard of building codes just got more environmentally friendly.  The new 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) improves upon its 2006 standard by 30% savings!

According to the press release, “The model energy code governs home and commercial building construction, additions, and renovations in 47 states and the District of Columbia where local building codes are based on these national model standards.”

Many federal agencies including the Department of Defense references the International Building Code.
