Paul Murray Leaves Herman Miller, Celebrating The Next Step In His Career

After 22 years and a significant influence to Herman Miller and the West Michigan community, Paul Murray is stepping down as the company’s Director of Environmental Safety and Sustainability.

He will be taking a position with Shaw, a carpet manufacturer in Georgia. Murray has helped Herman Miller to become one of the country’s leaders in sustainable business.  He created the Environmental Quality Action Team that has helped the company to reduce waste, use more sustainable products, build LEED-certified buildings and increase renewable energy.  Herman Miller has received many awards for their environmental efforts including being named one of the top 100 global companies for sustainability.  Murray has also been active in many national and local environmental groups such as the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and the Air and Waste Management Association.

An open house will be held on Thursday, February 10 at Brewery Vivant between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm to celebrate his time at Herman Miller and his new career with Shaw.  Brewery Vivan is located at 925 Cherry Street in Grand Rapids,  a few blocks from the WMEAC headquarters in East Hills. Appetizers will be provided.
