Speaker Profile: Lee Sprague

This is the next post in a series on speakers and performances coming to the Grand River Water Festival.  You can read the previous ones here.

Lee Sprague is a member of the Tribal Council of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in Manistee, and is campaign manager for Clean Energy Now.  He studied International Indigenous Law and Native American Studies at San Fransisco State University and has been involved with the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal team.

Sprague is an advocate for clean water and air; in April the Muskegon Chronicle published his guest opinion column on the topic of strict regulation of the coal industry to minimize mercury pollution.  He’s also on Twitter as @Cleanenergynow.

Hear the Tribal Leader and environmental advocate speak at 5:00 PM on Saturday!  Check out the complete schedule here, and don’t forget to make campsite reservations!
