LG Chem is beginning the hiring process for their new plant that will open in Holland next year.
The plant, once open, will produce lithium ion batteries for cars like the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf and a new electric version of the Ford Focus. The batteries are currently being produced in Korea and sent to Michigan for assembly.
The Holland plant is looking for several managerial positions as well as 100 production positions. The production positions will require a high school diploma and computer skills. A job fair will be in Holland on April 26 at Ridge Point Church, 340 104th St. in Holland. A second job fair will be held in Grand Haven in May.
The plant is expected to continue hiring over the next several years to meet full capacity.
