The West Michigan Soil Erosion Control Network (WMSECN) is hosting their annual field day on August 2, 2012. The trip will begin at 8:30AM at Walker Fire Station #3, where a bus will be waiting to take participants to the Gentex development site, a lunchtime presentation with Hope College graduate student Dan Callum, and finally to the Holland Country Club wetland restoration site.
Field trip goers will be treated to tours of the sites, as well as informational presentations by experts in the wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, sediment fingerprinting, and more. The trip is open to non-members at a $10 cost, and free to members. It will be a great chance to get out of the office and into the field for the day to get first-hand knowledge into soil erosion issues in West Michigan.
