Water
Adopt a Stream
Adopt-A-Stream empowers community members and businesses to learn about our local streams and protect our freshwater resources!
Mayors’ Grand River Cleanup
This week-long event brings together mayors, elected officials and volunteers from several different west Michigan communities to help clean up our beautiful Grand River.
Rainy Day Project
In Year 1 of this pilot program, WMEAC worked with community partners working in Baxter, Garfield Park, Roosevelt Park, and Seeds of Promise Neighborhoods. to develop a more inclusive approach to engagement on residential green stormwater infrastructure practices and reduced water utility costs.
Rain Gardens
Communities can take action against rain and snowmelt flowing off of our yards, roofs, and sidewalks and washing pollution into our water systems. Rain gardens are designed to collect and absorb runoff from a roof or parking lot, the way nature intends rain to soak into the soil.
Rain Barrel Workshops
Communities can take action to manage storm water and improve water quality. WMEAC wants to help West Michigan communities take this step by providing low-cost rain barrels and workshops on how to set up those rain barrels.
Climate Change
Climate Change K-12 Lessons and Activities
Climate change is here. The future generations of students are inheriting a world gripped by rising temperatures, extreme natural events, and rising sea levels.
