Education Program Manager

ncordoba@wmeac.org

Nicole Cordoba holds a Master of Science in Geosciences from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where she was born and raised.

After graduating with her Master’s degree, she was a middle and high school science teacher for two years where she taught a variety of advanced science courses such as AP and IB Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Physical Science. Her philosophy in the classroom was “Everyone can be a scientist!”. She moved to Michigan in June 2024 and began working with WMEAC in September. As a first generation Latina graduate, she hopes to continue to encourage the local youth into becoming scientists and to be passionate about the environment and climate as WMEAC’s Education Program Manager.

During her spare time, Nicole enjoys reading (and occasionally uploading videos to her often neglected booktube channel), film and digital photography, gardening, hanging out with her four dogs and two bunnies, hiking and exploring parks with her partner Lorenzo, and spending hours in used bookstores.
