Act Committee

protect our planet

The Action, Coordination & Transformation (ACT) committee empowers its members to support WMEAC’s goals by engaging in regional, state, national and local policy campaigns and initiatives focused on climate, water, waste, and energy. It leverages members’ skills, knowledge, and networks to identify issues that align with WMEAC’s organizational goals, providing guidance and capacity to take effective action on these matters.

WMEAC knows that it will take all of us to protect our planet and our communities, most importantly our children. We have put together a full list of all of our educational programs and our educational materials for you to download at your convenience. We are able to do this work because of your tax-deductible donations, so please support this work by donating today.

Protecting our place is at once selfish and selfless, as we work to ensure our region is preserved for the future. The many hands. The many voices. The many miles of rivers, lakeshore, and duneland. These assets, together to create this place that we have chosen and have chosen to protect for many years to come.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Join us for an Opinion Editorials and Letters to the Editor advocacy training on October 16 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm ET, presented by Kim Hunter of Engage Michigan. You will leave this training with the basic tools you need to put your group’s goals/demand into an editorial for digital and print outlets. We’ll cover how to stay on message, and how bolster demands with effective calls to action.

Anyone is welcome to attend this virtual training. We hope you’ll attend, and bring an interested friend!
